Joanna Barlow, LICSW (she/her)

Joanna is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, having completed her MSW from the University of Michigan. She specializes in working with individuals struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance use. Joanna is experienced in PTSD assessment and treatment and also offers EMDR and Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapies.

Joanna utilizes evidence-based practices to work with individuals to explore and gain a deeper understanding of their own values, decisions, patterns of behavior, and goals. Through individual therapy, she supports clients in examining what contributes to their emotional distress and helps people learn strategies to take concrete steps toward living a fuller, values-aligned life. Joanna's approach is warm, curious, and centers around the therapeutic relationship. She prioritizes building trust and a collaborative space for clients to be authentically themselves - bringing the whole of their identities and experiences to therapy.

Joanna’s professional experience includes seeing clients individually and running groups in an inpatient setting. Earlier in her social work career, she worked in neighborhood organizing and advocacy. She brings this macro lens to her work with individuals - thinking about how broader systems and communities impact our day-to-day lives.
